Swedish MPs propose including BTC in the country's foreign exchange reserves

Rickard Nordin, a member of the Swedish parliament, submitted a written question to the finance minister suggesting that bitcoin be included in the country's foreign exchange reserves. In his question, Nordin pointed out that some countries such as El Salvador have listed bitcoin as a legal tender, and central banks around the world continue to discuss the impact of bitcoin on monetary policy. According to reports, Riksbank governor Erik Thedéen previously said in March 2024 that bitcoin has no place in the Swedish financial system. At present, there are no relevant regulations in Sweden that allow bitcoin to be included in foreign exchange reserves.
