Bill Ackerman "admits": Lutnik did not pursue his own interests

"I am unfairly attacking Mr. Lutnik. I don't think he is pursuing his own interests," Bill Ackerman, the hedge fund boss, said on social media platforms yesterday, blasting Mr. Lutnik for profiting by shorting the US. "I'm very dismayed that after tremendous economic progress for our country and our president, we've made what I consider to be major policy mistakes, and now we're at risk because of tariffs," he said. Earlier, Hassett, director of the National Economic Council, said Ackman should tone down the tariff language: "I urge everyone, especially Bill, to tone down the rhetoric a little bit."
