Bitdeer Acquires Canadian Mining Land for $21.70 million, Will Build Bitcoin Mining Power Plant
Bitcoin mining company Bitdeer has announced the acquisition of 19 acres of land and permits near Fox Creek in Alberta, Canada, for $21.70 million. The parcel has been approved to build a 101 trillion-watt natural gas power plant and is approved to interconnect with the Alberta Electricity System Operator (AESO) 99 trillion-watt grid.
Bitdeer plans to start site preparation in the second quarter of 2025, with full power expected by the fourth quarter of 2026. In addition to the land acquisition, the gas power plant is expected to require an additional investment of $90 million, and the bitcoin mining data center infrastructure is expected to require an additional investment of $30 million.
